The Basics
:
One of the newest diet centers
(it was founded in 1989), L.A. Weight Loss Centers helps customers
lose weight through one-on-one counseling and a personally designed
meal plan for each dieter.
The diet consist of three phases
:
-
LA
Weight Loss Phase 1 -- Weight Loss Phase
As the name implies, this is the period of time weight loss is
experienced, or should be experienced. Calorie consumption is
restricted the most during this phase and exercise plays a
pivotal role in the success of the phase. It is during this
phase that a member meets with his or her counselor three times
a week for a 10-15 minute check-in. During this brief encounter,
counselors offer support via motivation, reinforcement, and
reminders. This phase lasts for as long as it takes to meet the
weight loss goal.
-
LA
Weight Loss Phase 2 -- Stabilization Phase
This phase of the plan requires two appointments per week.
Similar to the weight loss phase, cues and reminders, as well as
monitoring of weight occurs at each visit. This phase lasts for
6 weeks.
-
LA
Weight Loss Phase 3 -- Maintenance Phase
A once a week visit winds down the program. It is at this time
that weight management for a lifetime is addressed.
Foods :
L.A. Weight Loss encourages the use of real foods; in addition
to their supplements, juices, and bars. You can have meats,
starches, fruits, and vegetables; fats are limited. There are three
distinct phases. The first is for weight loss. Dieters are assigned
somewhere between 1,100 and 1,800 calories a day. After reaching
their goal weight, they transition into a 6-week stabilization
phase. The third and final phase is a maintenance program that uses
counseling to help maintain weight loss. Candy, donuts, and other
indulgences are reserved for this phase. The diet works out to
approximately 45 percent carbohydrates, 35 percent to 40 percent
protein, and 15 percent to 20 percent fat.
