Another place my whole family goes -
the doctor is friendly, the staff are friendly, the place is
kid-friendly - and they'll work WITH a family on a budget rather
than pushing the very high end frames. When my son broke his
glasses and we were a couple of months out from his annual exam,
they called the insurance to get the ok to do the exam early so
the insurance could pay for the new glasses.
When I lost my brand new glasses (like a week after I got them)
they were willing to take my old frames and fit them for new
lenses - and gave me a discount on the normal price because they
knew it was a financial strain for me.
When I went in for my last exam, rather than insisting I needed
a new prescription (ie, more money for them), the doctor agreed
that my change in vision was not enough to need to change the
prescription on my lenses so that I could continue using the
contacts I'd bought a year earlier for a vacation - so I could
use them on another upcoming vacation where contacts and
non-prescription sunglasses would be easier to manage each day.
My kids both love going there - the staff is tolerant of them
checking out the look of lenses that everyone knows are in no
way going to happen (sorry kids, no high end $400 frames for
you!) - and when I was having issues with a lens that kept
falling out of wire-rim frames (a screw just wouldn't stay put),
they fixed it for me (with a slightly larger screw than normal,
I believe) with no complaints, no charge, and no fuss.
While I do wish they could do new frames onsite like
Lenscrafters, I've never received such great service from
Lenscrafters or any other optomitrist, that I'm willing to go
here even though it means braving the parking and crowds at
Oakridge Mall!
